Tasty Facts

For cooking, use deep dishes to avoid situations with water spilled on the bottom of the microwave.

Microwave ovens are designed in such a way that, unlike traditional defrosting methods, the product is heated from the inside out, and not vice versa. Therefore, in order for the shrimp to cook evenly, they need to be mixed several times during the cooking process.

Shrimps will not cook evenly if you load more than one kilogram in one dish – so separate your shrimp and cook in equal batches. In order to give shrimp an Asian touch, you can season them with hot pepper, dried garlic and a pinch of dried ginger, and use lime and mint leaf instead of lemon.

Overcooking the shrimp will make it rubbery, so don’t overdo it over time.

You can mix a small cube of butter into freshly cooked shrimp – this will make them softer and more fragrant.

A shrimp, like a crayfish, has an “esophagus” in its tail, so do not forget to pull it out during a snack or remove it by cutting the tail along the back side in advance.
