Orange jam is cooked for a total of 41 hours. Net jam cooking time – 50 minutes, 5 minutes each with breaks for cooling.
How to cook pear jam with orange
Pears
– 700 grams
Orange – 1 piece
Sugar – 1 kilogram
Water – 170 milliliters
Salt – half a teaspoon
How to cook pear jam with orange
1. Wash 1 kilogram of ripe durum pears (preferably autumn ones) and 1 orange.
2. Cut each fruit into two parts and cut out the seeds, inflorescence and stalk.
3. Cut half a pear into slices 0.5 cm thick.
4. Place pear slices in a saucepan, pour salted water over it and leave for 7 minutes, then drain the water.
5. Pour 170 milliliters of water into a separate pan and put on maximum heat.
6. After that, reduce the heat to a minimum and in portions, 150 grams each, add sugar to the water, stirring constantly. Boil 5 minutes.
7. Put pears in syrup, wait for boiling and cook for 7 minutes.
8. After 7 minutes, remove the jam from the heat, cover with a towel and leave to infuse for 8 hours.
9. After 8 hours, put the jam on gas and boil again for 7 minutes.
10. Remove from heat and leave for 8 hours.
11. Repeat the procedure 3 more times.
12. For the last time, boil the jam, add half an orange cut into thin slices to the jam.
13. Cook the jam over low heat for 25 minutes.
14. Check the readiness of the jam by dropping a drop of jam into a glass of water. In the case when the drop remained intact and fell to the bottom, the jam is ready and it can be poured into jars. Roll up jars with ready-made pear jam with orange and put away for storage.
