How to cook beets in the microwave
You will need – beets, water
1. Wash the beets and cut them in half. You can bake whole, but then you need to prick the beetroot with a fork so that it does not crack during cooking and cooks evenly. Put in a deep plate suitable for microwave, pour a third of a glass of cold water.
2. Put a plate with beets in the microwave, set the power to 800 W, cook small beets for 5 minutes, large ones for 7-8 minutes.
3. Insist the beets for 5 minutes in the microwave, check for readiness with a fork, if it is hard, return to the microwave for another 1 minute.
4. Beets are very easy to clean, then you can use it at your discretion.
About this cooking method
Beets are the easiest to cook in the microwave: of all the methods, this is the fastest method, requiring a minimum of effort and subsequent cleaning. Beetroot cooks much faster than with the usual method, since microwaves raise the internal temperature of the beetroot to much higher than 100 degrees: the beetroot is literally baked from the inside, but its own moisture and poured water do not allow it to dry out.
The water in the recipe is needed so that the beets are moistened as they cook and do not dry out.
You can cook beets in the microwave in a bag, but this method is not universal: you need special bags for cooking. An ordinary thin bag can spoil the beets.
In addition, beets with this option are baked with the appropriate smell, which is not always suitable for its further use.
