Apples – 3 pieces (large)
Sugar – 100 grams
Cinnamon – 1 stick (or 1 teaspoon without a hill of ground cinnamon)
Lemon – 1/2 piece (or lime – 1 piece)
Wash the apples, peel, cut the core and remove the branch. Cut peeled apples into slices. Take a medium-sized saucepan, put apples in it, pour water over them so that it covers 1/3 of the apples.
Put a cinnamon stick in there (or a teaspoon of ground cinnamon – depending on what is available). Bring to a boil and then simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Apples should become soft. After 15 minutes, add 100 grams of sugar and juice of 1/2 lemon (or one lime) to the pan.
Cook over low heat for another 10 minutes. Then put the mixture in a blender and grind. Serve both warm and chilled. For meat, fish, pancakes, apple sauce is served in a gravy boat, but it can also be served as a dessert – in a dessert bowl, garnished with a cinnamon stick and sprinkled with powdered sugar on top.
